Integrated approach delivers large cost savings for WiMAX, HSDPA network rollouts

London,UK -- Actix, the recognized leader in Automatic Optimization for mobile wireless networks has today announced significant enhancements to Radioplan, the world's most widely used automatic cell planning and optimization solution.

The latest version of Radioplan enables operators to further improve network coverage, quality of service and capacity, while also coupling the solution to enterprise capabilities of the market-leading Actix One platform for radio engineering systemization.

Actix' new Radioplan 3.9 release includes improvements to:
  • Enable more detailed planning and better control of capital expenditure in new deployments
  • Provide connectivity to the entire suite of several hundred data adaptors contained within the Actix One platform
  • Enhance data visualisation to improve usability and consistency of cell- and site-related network data
  • Actix' patented, per-cell path loss tuning technologies
  • Support automatic cell planning of Fixed and Mobile WiMAX and HSDPA networks
"With the exceptional growth of mobile broadband, operators need to ensure they get the most from their network assets to support astonishing rates of data usage," commented Joerg Schuler, Automatic Optimization Product Manager at Actix. "Actix Radioplan helps carriers do better at this by driving maximum efficiency and profitability from the Radio Access Network through effective planning and optimization of radio resources. With the ability to link our patented pathloss tuning technology to the entire suite of data interfaces available via Actix One, we can unlock a lot more value from network data and help cut deployment costs for mobile broadband by as much as 30 percent."

Actix will be participating in CommunicAsia in Singapore on 17-20 June 2008, to introduce the benefits Actix Radioplan can deliver for wireless operators rolling out new 2G, 3G and 4G networks and services in Asia
Pacific.
