San Jose, CA & Rome -- Proxim Wireless Corporation, a global
provider of broadband wireless equipment and wholly owned subsidiary of
Terabeam, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRBM), today announced that Enterprise Digital
Architects SpA, a leading provider of end-to-end network solutions for
e-business and e-government throughout Italy, has completed successful
trials of Proxim's Tsunami MP.16 3500, WiMAX-compliant system.
Enterprise designs, implements and manages information and
communications technology solutions for private business and public
administration. It is one of the largest companies in its field in
Italy, with over four thousand clients and revenues of EUR 300 million

Proxim's Tsunami MP.16 3500 system is designed with service providers in
mind. It is compliant with the 802.16-2004 WiMAX standard, operates
within the 3.4-3.6 GHz frequency band, and offers time-division
duplexing (TDD) which is optimal for asynchronous traffic patterns as
typically experienced by service providers. The system is comprised of
base stations and subscriber units in integrated, outdoor form factors
for easy installation. The Enterprise trial included tests of Proxim's
WiMAX products over extended ranges in both urban and mountainous
environments in Rome and Torino, respectively.
"Proxim's demonstration of their WiMAX system has proven that the
technology to support advanced multimedia services for our business and
government clients has arrived," said Luigi Caruso, Chief Executive
Officer of Enterprise Digital Architects. "We also appreciated the level
of support provided by Proxim during the trial."
"WiMAX is a logical addition to Proxim's proven, leading portfolio of
outdoor, point-to-multipoint networking products," said Lionel
Chmilewsky, Vice President of International Sales, Proxim Wireless.
"Having already sold hundreds of thousands of outdoor wireless units
worldwide, we have extensive experience in the radio, mechanical,
networking and management requirements necessary to make an outdoor
system work. By leveraging our extensive knowledge gathered over years
of serving exactly the same customer base that seeks WiMAX, we are
introducing a product that is robust, reliable and well suited for the
requirements of our service provider customers."
