Zappala joins BLiNQ with more than 24 years experience in the
management, research, design and development of sophisticated RF
electronics related to cellular digital communications systems, radar
systems, and high power solid state transmitters. He comes from Andrew
Wireless Solutions, a Commscope Company, where he headed R&D for the
Base Station Subsystems Group. Under Zappala's leadership, the company
entered a new high growth product category and developed strong
relationships with top tier mobile operators. Prior to that, Zappala was
a founding member of Celiant Corporation and has held several
engineering roles at Lucent and Watkins-Johnson. Zappala holds thirteen
patents. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from
Lafayette College, Easton, PA and a Masters of Science in Electrical
Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD.
Selea joins BLiNQ from Redline Communications where he was Co-founder,
CTO and VP of Engineering. He developed strategies and lead the product
development for a product line of wireless OFDM/OFDMA access and
backhaul solutions, including the first worldwide WiMAX certified base
station and subscriber unit that created the foundation for Redline's
IPO. Throughout his career, Selea worked with IEEE and the WiMAX Forum
and was instrumental in establishing global standards for wireless
technologies. Selea also served as Engineering Director at Hefaistos,
which he co-founded in 1994. Selea holds a Masters degree in Automation
and Computer Science (Honors) from the University of Craiova, Romania.
