Service Enables Wireless Carriers to Rapidly Enter Global
Telecommunications Industry
SAN FRANCISCO, CA. USA - January 12, 2005 - InfiniRoute Networks Inc.
(www.infiniroute.com) has announced the availability of its Voice over
IP (VoIP) peering service for Wireless Carriers. InfiniRoute's Managed
VoIP Peering (MVP) service, launched in 2004, was the industry's first
carrier- neutral VoIP Peering service to integrate and manage voice
and IP routing for wireline, wireless and emerging carriers.
InfiniRoute's MVP service now provides mobile carriers with the
ability to terminate and receive international traffic using
cost-effective, high quality VoIP technology. Carrier benefits
include:
-
Greater
access to global markets. Mobile Network Operators without extensive
TDM networks can now economically reach international termination
partners without significant capital expenditures.
-
Lower cost
of operations. Mobile networks can leverage VoIP to deliver
international traffic at lower costs over a scalable and inexpensive
packet-based infrastructure.
-
Reduced
technology risk. InfiniRoute's proven solution lowers capital
expenditures associated with emerging technologies.
-
Faster time
to market. The fully managed service, combined with InfiniRoute's
VoIP expertise, enables mobile network operators to enter the global
VoIP telecommunications market.
"The wireless
segment represents an important opportunity for InfiniRoute Networks.
We have had considerable success with several large mobile network
operators leveraging InfiniRoute Wireless VoIP Managed Gateway
services to connect to the global VoIP network," said Mr. Robert H.
Turner, Chief Executive of InfiniRoute Networks.
"Our patented VoIP network technology provides these wireless carriers
with an alternative to paying the high premiums associated with
terminating international traffic in the traditional TDM world,"
concluded Turner.
"Mobile carriers represent a growing share of outbound international
traffic. In many countries, more than 50% of all international calls
now originate over mobile handsets. However, very few mobile carriers
have established international VoIP networks. This is largely due to
the network complexities, capital and operating costs associated with
VoIP architectures," said Andrew Burroughs, Chief Marketing Officer of
InfiniRoute Networks. "InfiniRoute Networks enables mobile carriers to
terminate and receive global VoIP traffic directly, significantly
lower their network operating costs without having to invest heavily
in capital and personnel," noted Burroughs.
