The new Tranzeo 3.5 GHz
and 5.8 GHz WiMAX CPE products will feature Wavesat's DM256 802.16
chipset and its WiMAX Mini-PCI design and are expected to be available
by the end of second quarter 2007 through Tranzeo's international
network of 18 distributors and 2,465 dealers.
According to global technology analysts at Maravedis, Inc., a firm
specializing in WiMAX and wireless broadband market research, the WiMAX
standard is expected to grow rapidly with 90 percent of all broadband
wireless deployments worldwide using it by 2012. Maravedis also projects
that demand for WiMAX and broadband customer premise equipment will rise
to $3.7 billion USD during the same period.
"WiMAX has enormous potential as a last-mile wireless broadband access
solution, and we are very pleased to be working in partnership with
Wavesat who shares our commitment to costcompetitive, high-performance
products," said Jim Tocher, President and CEO of Tranzeo Wireless.
"Wavesat is committed to building the largest WiMAX ecosystem of ODMs
and OEMs worldwide and we are extremely happy to count Tranzeo Wireless
among them," said Michel Guay, CEO of Wavesat. "Our complete portfolio
of WiMAX base station and CPE solutions are based on our WiMAX Forum
CertifiedTM technology and have undergone extensive interoperability
testing. This first step with Tranzeo lays the foundation for a
successful collaboration and we look forward to thriving deployments of
'Powered by Wavesat' products." |
