BeotelNet, a subsidiary of Telefonija, is actively using Aperto's
PacketWave point to multipoint broadband wireless system in the licensed
3.5 GHz spectrum. The network is providing full non-line-of-sight (NLOS)
coverage across the entire Belgrade metropolitan area.
"We vetted numerous WiMAX broadband wireless systems and we determined
that Aperto Networks had the optimal licensed-band offering for our
needs, said Radivoje Milicevic, Executive Director of Internet Solutions
for BeotelNet. "We were particularly impressed with the industry-leading
QoS features inherent in Aperto's gear, as well as scalability of the
products."
"We are excited to be working with one of South East Europe's most
progressive and leading-edge wireless Internet service providers," said
Manish Gupta, vice president of marketing and alliances for Aperto
Networks. "BeotelNET should be applauded for its unyielding commitment
to its customers in providing the highest quality service and
performance."
"Our current network is based on Aperto's proprietary WiMAX-class
solutions, said Milicevic. "As our wireless access network expands, we
plan to deploy WiMAX Forum Certified(TM) equipment."
Some of Belgrade's leading companies will be getting their voice and
data communications services delivered using the new WiMAX class
solution. These include NIS Energogas, Serbia's leading transporter and
distributor of natural gas and liquid petrol gas supplies; KMF Marbo,
Serbia and Montenegro's largest snack food producer; and IMLEK Belgrade,
the largest dairy corporation in Yugoslavia.
