TORONTO, ONTARIO -- Network and element management enables true
carrier-class WiMAX deployments and seamless integration with the core
network
Redline Communications, a leading provider of standards-based wireless
broadband equipment, today introduced the RedMAXTM Management Suite,
enabling seamless integration and management of WiMAX technologies
within operators' core networks. By integrating the RedMAX Management
Suite with their RedMAX network, operators can establish and manage a
true carrier-class WiMAX network.
The RedMAX Management Suite (RMS) is an element management system that
enables broadband network operators to easily deploy, control, monitor
and upgrade the Redline products in their network, acting as a gateway
to the operators' NMS and OSS and enabling full automation of operations
The RMS is standards-based and platform independent to easily integrate
with any IT infrastructure.
"The RedMAX Management Suite is a key differentiator for Redline and an
important component of our RedPATH architecture roadmap," said Edgar
Masri, Chief Operating Officer, Redline Communications Inc. "Network
management is a top priority for carriers that want to integrate WiMAX
with their core networks and have the ability to expand and manage their
networks as they grow and introduce new technologies based on the
evolving WiMAX standards."
The RMS monitors equipment, collects traffic statistics and enables
provisioning of services, reports inventories and alarm propagation via
a Northbound Interface. To help ensure uninterrupted service and to
maximize the network capacity the RMS includes programmable TCAs for
varying levels of alarms. In addition, the RMS enables operators to
perform scheduled automated software upgrades to all Redline equipment
on the network from a central location.
Redline's RedPATHTM Architecture Roadmap
The RedMAX Management Suite is an important component of the Redline's
RedPATHTM architecture roadmap, which provides carriers with a clear
business and network deployment strategy that leverages their WiMAX
investment. RedPATH is a three stage approach that guides Redline's
RedMAX product development from supporting today's fixed and portable
services, to products that will enable carriers to expand and enhance
their services, and delivering on the promise of full mobility.
With the first phase now complete, operators can establish a WiMAX
network that delivers on the performance and interoperability
requirements of WiMAX Forum CertifiedTM products, with an open
architecture and management system which is a key component for
carrier-class networks.
Redline is now delivering on phase two of RedPATH, which will enable
operators to expand their services to enhanced fixed services and
portable applications. The RedMAX Indoor Subscriber Unit will accelerate
the expansion of WiMAX networks to include residential and small
business users. Also in this phase, operators can benefit from a new
RedMAX base station architecture that will support either or both of
today's WiMAX standards. The third phase of RedPATH will enable RedMAX
network operators to evolve to mobile service offerings with advanced
physical layer technologies including MIMO and AAS antennas that ensure
the ubiquitous coverage required for a profitable mobile business model.
Redline's RedMAX products have been chosen by carriers in International
markets for nation-wide deployments and network trials. Among the first
to install RedMAX for a nation-wide network is Hrvatske Telekomunikacije
d.d (T-HT), a Croatian telecommunications company owned by Deutsche
Telecom. The T-HT deployment is being managed by MICROLINK, a
distributor and system integrator of wireless communication systems for
digital data transmission. RedMAX is also being deployed by Integrated
Telecom Company Ltd. (ITC), a licensed data service provider in Saudi
Arabia as part of the (U.S.) $22.2 million first phase of its
region-wide broadband network.
Redline's RedMAX Family
Redline's RedMAX family of WiMAX solutions includes the world's first
complete network to receive the WiMAX Forum CertifiedTM mark for
conformance to the strict standards for performance and
interoperability. The carrier-class RedMAX Base Station (AN-100U)
supports voice, video, and prioritized data traffic, enabling
long-range, high-capacity wireless broadband networks. Redline's WiMAX
products also includes the RedMAX Indoor Subscriber Unit (SU-I) and
Outdoor Subscriber Unit (SU-O) designed for enterprise and residential
services. The RedMAX Management Suite enables operators to monitor and
control the network, ensuring high service availability.
