New Canopy LITE 5.7 GHz Subscriber Modules now offer an even more
affordable option for you to offer your end users. Let them access the
Internet at high-speed and use VoIP and other advanced features at a
very attractive price. The data rate starts at 512KB data rate and may
be upgraded with purchase of software keys up to 7 Mbps. Canopy LITE
requires Advantage Access points and power supplies are not included.
Mesh Networking Solutions
Firetide
HotPort 3200 series outdoor mesh nodes have weatherproof NEMA 4X
enclosures and connect wirelessly to indoor and outdoor HotPort nodes
to form a high performance wireless mesh network for video, voice and
data. HotPort outdoor nodes feature a built-in dual port 10/100
Ethernet switch, a high speed dual spectrum radio, omni-directional
antennas (for staging purposes), and support 802.3af Power over
Ethernet. They can operate at 2.4 GHz for maximum range and
penetration or at 5 GHz for minimal interference from 2.4 GHz devices.
A removable sunshield and mounting bracket are included.

HotPort 3103 indoor mesh nodes connect wirelessly to other HotPort
nodes forming a wireless mesh network. 25 Mbps throughput enables
triple play networks carrying video, voice and data. Features include
dual spectrum radios operating at 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, a four port 10/100
Ethernet switch, and two omni-directional antennas.
Wireless Backhaul
Unlicensed links can be up and running in a relatively short
time and without a lot of added expense to the end user. The drawback
is potential interference. With unlicensed radios the end user has no
control over who is able to use the frequency and thus can encounter
unexpected or unplanned interference. However if the proper
precautions are taken one can use an unlicensed link successfully for
a number of years.
Licensed links, on the other hand, tend to have higher
throughputs and be more reliable. Because the frequency is licensed,
users are certain they're the only ones in the area allowed to use
that frequency. They also have confidence of knowing the occasional
access point at a home or coffee shop is not going to take down
mission-critical data or slow their network. Licensed links are
generally more expensive because of licensing fees and the additional
time needed to install the system.
