WiMAX World to Feature Expanded Conference and Expo, and to Attract over
6,000 Attendees from 125+ Countries; Event to Focus on Mobility, Digital
Cities and the WiMAX Ecosystem
WiMAX World 2007
Boston, MA -- Trendsmedia, the Events and Publishing Division of Yankee
Group, today announced that it expects the WiMAX World Conference & Expo
(http://usa.wimaxworld.com) to be the largest WiMAX-focused event ever
held. WiMAX World USA will be held September 25-27, 2007 at the
McCormick Center in Chicago, IL. |
“We are extremely pleased
with the support that WiMAX World has received to date,” said Eliot
Weinman, conference founder and co-chair, and president of Trendsmedia.
“Now in our fourth year, WiMAX World USA is the must attend event in the
industry. We have already registered over 1,700 attendees, and expect
that over 6,000 WiMAX ecosystem players, including operators, service
providers, solution providers, end users, industry analysts and media
will converge at this event in September.”
This year’s event features more than 230 exhibitors and sponsors. The
three-day WiMAX World conference program features participation by
virtually all major WiMAX players, including more than 35 WiMAX
operators and over 180 thought-provoking speakers.
This year’s event will focus on three key WiMAX themes: Mobility, the
WiMAX Ecosystem and Digital Cities:
- Mobility: Why WiMAX is poised to transform the mobile Internet
experience and when.
- WiMAX Ecosystem: How vendors, service providers and governments around
the world are working together to create the WiMAX ecosystem of the
future.
- Digital Cities: How municipalities are turning to WiMAX to overcome
the digital divide between fixed broadband and WiFi.
According to Berge Ayvazian, conference co-chair and chief strategy
officer of Yankee Group, “Independent research studies have projected
that over the next four to five years, the WiMAX market will comprise
between 5 to 10% of the overall worldwide telecommunications
marketplace. The growth in the WiMAX market is clearly reflected in the
increase in size of this year’s event.”
Among the anticipated event highlights at WiMAX World USA is the Mobile
Broadband Executive Summit, which will showcase the key players in the
emerging Mobile Internet ecosystem. This year, roundtable discussions
and presentations will feature many of the industry’s leading service
providers, product vendors, analysts, and WiMAX users, who will educate
attendees on issues relating to the adoption and evolution of mobile
broadband in today’s global market. Presenters include Sprint, Cisco,
MobiTV, Towerstream and Ericsson.
In addition, the WiMAX Solutions Theater will be located on the WiMAX
World exhibition floor during expo hours on September 26-27. This
dedicated solutions stage will feature product briefings from 15 of the
world’s leading solution providers, enabling attendees to evaluate
competing technologies in an educational setting.
“WiMAX technology is coming of age and WiMAX World USA provides a unique
opportunity for the entire WiMAX community to come together, collaborate
and share insights into new developments and advances in technology that
are propelling this important market,” continued Weinman.
Motorola is the official corporate host. The flagship service provider
sponsor is Sprint. Premier sponsors include Alcatel-Lucent, IBM, Intel,
Nortel and Samsung. The premier Mobile Broadband Executive Summit
sponsor is Nortel.
