Vodafone Executive Joins Wavesat Board of Directors

Sunnyvale, CA -- Wavesat Inc., a leading supplier of Broadband Wireless
semiconductor solutions, announced today that Professor Michael Walker,
Group R&D Director at Vodafone has been appointed to the Board of
Directors, effective immediately.

wealth of expertise and wisdom that will be very beneficial to Wavesat.

Professor
Michael Walker is the Group Research and Development Director for the
Vodafone Group (NYSE: VOD), with responsibility for R&D activities
worldwide. The role provides technical leadership for the Group's
long-term business strategy and leadership for the company's work in
international technical standards. Since 1996, Michael has been a
professor at the University of London, holding the part-time Vodafone
Chair in Telecommunications at Royal Holloway. He is also a visiting
Professor at the University of Surrey. Michael is Vice-Chairman of the
Mobile VCE, a group of companies and UK universities researching future
mobile communications and currently has a seat on the UK Government's
Technology Strategy Board. Before joining Vodafone, Michael was Head of
Mathematics at Racal Research and prior to that he was an academic at
the University of Tuebingen in Germany.
